Given the current recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), Presidential guidelines and from the Evangelical Free Church leadership concerning Covid-19 precautions, we are making the following decisions:
- We are suspending in person meetings for the next 8 weeks, to be regularly re-evaluated.
- Sunday Services will be live-cast online, available on our website
- Our office hours will be by appointment through Pastor Andrew
- Invite to RightNow Media for home Bible Study content
- Continued faithfulness in giving will be important
The North Central District, that we are a part of, has recommended to suspend all congregational gatherings for the next eight weeks. Following this guidance, we will be holding our Sunday service through a live stream accessible on our website. We are advising our small groups to respect this decision and avoid meeting in person as well. Any small group that would like to meet online can contact Pastor Andrew for assistance in setting up a virtual meeting.
We humbly ask you to pray for all ministry accomplished through the Lighthouse. Although in-person worship will be interrupted, the ministry of the church will continue. We will continue to shepherd the congregation, seeking to provide for spiritual and physical needs. Our ministry leaders will continue to look for ways to forward the mission of God’s church in our area. While we won’t have standard office hours, the building is accessible by appointment with Pastor Andrew.
As part of our care for you, we want to connect you with Christian content that can be accessed online. You will be receiving an invite from RightNow Media, a “Netflix like” service of Christian training, Bible studies, and other content that we are providing at no cost to you. This can include content that we produce as well as work done by many other Christian teachers and leaders. As we find other content we especially want to highlight, we will pass it on as well.
In order to continue your worship through giving, you can still send giving through the mail and we will be looking to make online giving available as well. As always, mail can be sent to PO Box 515, Hackensack, MN 56452. We will continue to pay our staff and the other church expenses; we are starting from a place of financial strength and with continued regular giving don’t expect any problems. As many may be facing additional needs at this time, we encourage those who are able to remember our compassion fund, used to meet the physical needs of the people around and among us.
We encourage you to look out for each other and your neighbors during this time to identify needs that the church body can meet. As Elders we will be reaching out regularly to each of you to make sure things are ok, encourage and pray for you.
Please know that as updates become available, we will continue to be in touch with you via mail and/or email. If the Lighthouse does not have your email address, please provide it by calling the church office at (218)675-5882 or by emailing email@example.com.
